I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We truly give God thanks and praises for the many blessings he has bestowed upon us!!!

During last Sunday’s sermon we reviewed the spiritual decay of Israel.  In doing so, it soon becomes apparent that due to neglect, the Priests/Leaders were major contributors to Israel’s downfall.  As we examined the scriptures we learn that they failed to teach the citizens the truth and knowledge from the perspective of God’s Law/Statue. This has always and will always lead to spiritual decay (lack of a relation with God) and moral decline (lack of a right relation with one another). During the message I asked that each of us during the course of the week perform deeds for others that would reflect the Light of Christ in us. I sincerely hope and pray that we lit up our world with the Light of Christ!

Again, I thank everyone who assisted the Mulligan family during the passing of Brother Edwin “Eggy” Mulligan. May we continue to pray and show love and support to Sister Mulligan and her family.

History of Mt. Carmel

Mt. Carmel in 1869

For moments lets go back, back in time to the year 1869 to a small town called Keans Neck, South Carolina. A group of recently freed blacks gather under the clear blue skies amid the moss-laden trees. The worshippers kneel on the velvet like grass and pray to God Almighty. They sing hymns accompanied by chirping birds and they read scriptures on a cathedral created by the hands of God. From this simple beginning evolved the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Dale, South Carolina.
